Friday Messages – 29 November 2019

Dear Parents

We have made it safely to the end of another week when we have been blighted by illness. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those in our school community who are currently suffering.

Congratulations to our swimming team for their winning performance in last night’s gala against Farleigh!

Staff news

We are sorry to be saying farewell to Jaci Langhorn (Girls’ Games Coach) at the end of this term, as she is taking the opportunity to undertake some work abroad for a previous employer. We wish her every success in her new endeavour. The school is currently recruiting for her replacement for next term.

Reverse Advent Calendar

Thanks to Harry in Year 2 (and his mum), this year we are creating a St Francis Reverse Advent Calendar, to celebrate giving as well as receiving Christmas gifts. The idea is that for each day in Advent up until the end of term, children in each class/form from Reception up to Year 8 will be asked to donate a gift. We will therefore all be able to think of those in our community who are in need, by supporting the Devizes and Marlborough Food Banks through the donation of (mainly food) items. Please see the attached letter and list for details. At the end of term, Harry and his mum will deliver the items to the food banks to help those who may be struggling.  Children will be chosen each day to bring in items of food for our collection, so be ready!

Week 13 Clubs

Please note that, as stated in the printed calendar, after school Clubs will not be taking place in the final week of term. There will however be a School Orchestra rehearsal on Tuesday 10 December in preparation for the Carol Service. Care Club and Homework Club will continue until Thursday 12 December.
