Friday Messages – 13 November 2020

Dear Parents,

Well done to our pupils who marked ‘Children in Need’ today with suitably yellow attire, including some who attended as Pudsey Bear himself! Thank you to all the parents for your generous donations: at the time of going to press, the school’s totalizer on the Just Giving page stood at a running total of £1365. It is still possible to donate to this very worthy cause, so thank you in advance for further donations.

On Wednesday morning this week, we took time as a school community to remember members of the armed forces who have given their lives in the line of duty.  Our virtual Act of Remembrance at 11.00am included the respectful two minutes of silence. Special thanks to Mrs Sandie Crouter (wife of our brass teacher) for her moving rendition of the Last Post which was played to all pupils.

Indoor Trainers for Years 3 to 8

Please can parents ensure that their child has a pair of indoor trainers in school at all times, as they are a requirement for PE/Games lessons in the Hemery Hall. Outdoor trainers can become very muddy at this time of year and, as a result, the floor in the Hemery Hall is becoming very dirty. Indoor trainers do not need to be an expensive pair and can even be a pair previously worn outside and cleaned up, but exclusively used for indoors. Thank you for your help with this matter.

FoSF Christmas Fair Raffle

It is a great shame that yesterday’s annual Christmas Fair could not go ahead because of current COVID restrictions. However it is still possible to start thinking about Christmas present preparations! Please find attached the latest issue of the ‘FoSF Times’ which includes details about the Christmas Fair Raffle, and also links to the traders (who are offering special deals) who would have been in attendance yesterday.
